Our core aims

Attend a workshop to find out more about beekeeping. Our workshops are tailor made to suit the participants. A one off workshop giving an introduction to beekeeping or a course lasting a few weeks to delve further into the field, talk to us and we can tailor to your needs.

Dugy has many years of experience working in schools & nurseries, and with young people & adults – just about every age & stage! As a confident speaker and an extremely enthusiastic beekeeper, Dugy will create and deliver a workshop or session suited to your group. This could be as short as one hour or a number of days. From the Basics of Beekeeping and How To get Started, a Day in The Life of a Beekeeper, The Life Cycle of a Bee to the more technical side of beekeeping (and more!) there’s loads to learn about beekeeping and bees. Talk to us and we can find the best information to share.

A workshop could be a presentation around honey bees & beekeeping or a practical hive building session using hammers and nails. We can also include activities such as honey spinning, candle rolling and more!

Our observation hive is a great resource. We can bring a sealed box of bees to you (honestly it is completely sealed!), which includes a viewing pane. Can you find the Queen?

If its practical beekeeping you would like, we have suits for people of all sizes and can cater to groups. Get in touch to arrange a practical beekeeping session for your group. Our bees are located with great transport links, it’s incredibly easy to get to.

See our inclusion statement. Dugy is an ambassador of disability inclusion, he will adapt any workshop and sessions to ensure everyone has a fulfilling experience.

A virtual workshop is available. If you are holding a video conference call, we can join and share information with your group.

Costs. the cost of workshops depends on group size and content. Drop us an email and we can find the best outcome.

Covid-19. All of our activities and workshops are covid secure. We take measures to minimise risks; we make a benefit of risk assessment. A comprehensive Covid-19 policy is available upon request.

Dugy who runs the workshops holds an enhanced DBS certificate and an up to date Outdoor First Aid certificate which includes paediatric first aid.
